Method for recording an array of Fourier holograms avoiding mutual interference
A. Akaev, S. A. Maiorov
Abstract:
A description is given of a method for recording Fourier holograms of arrays of binary data in pageorganized memories. This method ensures the maximum concentration of the data-carrying light flux in the central spot of the diffraction pattern and suppression of the side rings, which eliminates the possibility of interference with neighboring holograms. This is achieved by the simultaneous use of a random phase mask, a data transparency, and an amplitude mask with apodized apertures. Functions are given which can be used in practice as transmission functions of apertures in an amplitude mask. A study is made of the influence of apodization on the properties of a hologram and of the image reconstructed from it.
