Thin-film laser based on a Bragg waveguide

Abstract:
A derivation is given of the dispersion equation for estimating the propagation constants of waves traveling in a Bragg waveguide. A description is given of a thin-film laser implemented experimentally on the basis of such a waveguide. It is shown that a laser with a wide band of spatially resolved emission frequencies can be constructed.
