Abstract: Results of an experimental study of heat transfer in a separated flow behind a step and a rib are presented. The influence of the obstacle height (H=630 mm) on heat and mass transfer and the structure of the thermal boundary layer is studied. The features of heat transfer in recirculation and relaxation zones of the separated flow are analyzed, and the effect of separation on intensification and suppression of turbulent heat transfer is determined.
Keywords: experimental study, separated flows, turbulent flow, heat transfer, temperature distribution, step, rib, secondary vortex region.
