Graduated from the Faculty of Electrophysics LETI in «Electroacoustics and Ultrasonic Equipment» in 1974. From 1974 to 2000 he worked in the State Optical Institute. In 1986 he defended his Ph.D. thesis, in 2000 he defended a Doctor thesis. Since 2006 Professor of Applied and Computer Optics department ITMO. Author of more than 80 scientific papers. His research interests are currently focused on holography and holography optics, interferometry, astronomical and adaptive optics.
