Graduated (1991) from the Institute of Applied Physics at the Vienna University of Technology. He received his Doctor of Technology (2000) degree from the Vienna University of Technology on laser micromachining.
Actually, he is professor at the Vienna University of Technology at the Institute for Production Engineering
and Laser Technology, where he heads the laser application group. He is mainly focused on applications of laser material processing with emphasis on ultra short laser pulses.
