The 3-d model of temperature distribution in water basin
O. B. Nikitenko Computer Center of Rostov State University
Abstract:
The description of the two- and three-dimensional problems of temperature distribution
of the Azov sea are given.
This model takes into account all sources of heat for water basin: short-wave radiation,
contacting heat exchange, evaporation and heat bottom exchange. They are very important for
determination of temperature field in the water basin.
The explicit scheme is used for two-dimentional model. The convective part of equation
is approximated by central differences. The system of linear algebraic equations with nonsymmetric matrix has been obtained. This system is solved using LINPACK.
The implicit scheme is used for tree-dimentional model. This problem is solved on model
example.
The numerical experiments of temperature distribution in water basin were performed
for one of the southern Sea of Russia – the Azov Sea. The calculated results for tree-dimentional model were compared with natural observations. It gives a good coincidence.
