Multigrid method for convection-diffusion problems with a small parameter

G. V. Muratova

Rostov State University
Abstract: Convection – diffusion problems with a small parameter are considered. The choice of discrete approximation methods is discussed. New modification of multigrid method for the solution of the linear algebraic equation systems with strongly nonsymmetric matrix obtained after difference approximation of the convection-diffusion equation with a small parameter is proposed. Specially created triangular iterative method has been used as the smoother of multigrid method. Some theoretical and numerical results are presented.
