Interaction of Falling Film Disturbances Caused by Several Local Heaters
Vladimir V. Kuznetsov M. A. Lavrent'ev Institute of Hydrodynamics
Abstract:
Liquid film flowing down an inclined substrate with heaters is considered. Numerical results are obtained for both velocity and temperature field's evolutions, and location of the liquid-gas interface. The computations were carried out for two of the heaters with rectangular working surface. Two cases were considered: (1) the heaters are located one by one downstream; (2) the heaters are located on a level with common downstream. It was shown that the interaction of surfaces and temperature disturbances caused by heaters, their superposition exert significant influence on basic process qualities such as the highest possible heating of substrate and the greatest thinning of liquid film. When the heaters are located one by one downstream, the existence of the critical gap size between the heaters in which disturbances are maximal is found.
