Abstract: A unified description of the thermodynamic properties of carbon in the form of a set of single-type analytical expressions for the free energy of diamond, liquid carbon, and graphite is presented. Based on the results obtained, the phase diagram of carbon is calculated in the range of pressures of about 3–100 GPa and temperatures of about 300–6000 K.
