Abstract: In the article dedicated to the 75th anniversary of Alexander Olshanskii, colleagues, friends and students reflected biographical information about the hero of the day, information about his student life, studies in graduate school, gave brief information about his scientific and pedagogical activities, about participation in the mathematical life of the world community.
Keywords: combinatorial group theory, geometric methods in group theory, varieties of groups and rings.
