From chord diagrams to cohomological field theories

We show how the simplest Gaussian model (chord diagrams) is related to other models including the Kontsevich–Penner model counting integer points in (open) moduli spaces of Riemann surfaces with holes and models of cohomological field theory type (based on a joint paper with J. Andersen, P. Norbury, and R. Penner).
