On a theorem of Hadamard

Classical results of Cauchy, Hadamard and Fabri on disks of holomorphicity and meromorphicity of power series have become the ground for a rich analytic theory of the rows of Padé tables. This talk is a survey of the main results in this field, including reminiscences of some interesting discussions carried out during the development of this theory.
