In contrast to most technical universities in Germany, the TU Berlin not only offers courses in engineering and natural sciences, but also humanities, social sciences and economics. It has one of the largest numbers of foreign students at a German university. Currently reforms are underway intended to strengthen the existing potential in research and teaching, and to catch up with the leading international universities.
