The reaction of a lithium ansa-bis(aminopyridinato) ligand $\mathrm{ \{L = \mathrm{[N(2\text{-}C_5H_4N)SiMe_2CH_2]_2^{2-}} \}}$ with $\mathrm{ZrCl_4}$ afforded the dimeric complex $\mathrm{[LZrCl(\mu\text{-}Cl)]_2}$ which was characterized by X-ray structure analysis and found active in catalyzing ethylene polymerization.
