I will explain the appearance of the KPZ scaling and Tracy-Widom
distribution in the 2D and 3D Ising models. Based on a joint paper
with Patrik Ferrari: "The Airy2 process and the 3D Ising model",
to appear in the Journal of Physics A: Mathematical and Theoretical.
