Exceptional collections on homogeneous spaces

In this talk I will discuss exceptional collections in derived categories of coherent sheaves on algebraic varieties, try to explain how one can use them, and describe a new approach to construction of exceptional collections on compact homogeneous spaces of semisimple algebraic groups which was suggested recently in a joint paper with A. Polishchuk.
