Waves in stratified medium: modelling, asymptotics, applications

The report is devoted to the presentation of fundamental problems of mathematical modeling of wave dynamics of natural stratified media (ocean, atmosphere). The main mathematical models describing the processes of excitation and propagation of internal gravity waves in vertically stratified, horizontally inhomogeneous and non-stationary media are investigated, the main asymptotic methods for studying wave fields are presented. Considerable space is given to the comparison of the obtained analytical results with the data of natural measurements. The report will be of interest to specialists in the field of mathematical physics, asymptotic methods, applied mathematics, mathematical modeling, hydrodynamics.
