Lev Dmitrievich Kudryavtsev and his work at the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology

The report is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of Lev Dmitrievich Kudryavtsev, an outstanding mathematician, corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, a major specialist in the field of function theories, partial differential equations and topology. Lev Dmitrievich Kudryavtsev (25.03.1923-17.02.2012). Since 1947, i.e. since the founding of the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, Lev Dmitrievich worked for 55 years at the department of higher mathematics, of which more than 35 years as the head of the department. The widely known Phystech system is a system of mathematical education created largely through the efforts of Lev Dmitrievich. Along with the organization of this education system, Lev Dmitrievich attached great importance to pedagogical activity, achieving preciseness and clarity in the presentation of mathematical material. His textbooks on mathematical analysis became world famous.
