Severi varieties

In the study of projections of algebraic varieties, one devotes special attention to Severi varieties. The classification of varieties of extremal dimension which the general projection is one-to-one map comes down to them.
I will tell about some geometric properties of Severi varieties and their classification over an algebraically closed field of characteristic 0.
