Abstract:
In the present talk we will discuss topological defects in the AdS3 spacetime and their application for holographic studies of the thermalization process in two-dimensional conformal field theory, intiated by two local excitations. This process is described holographically as collision of two massless particles in the AdS3 spacetime, resulting in creation of a black hole. The particles and black holes in three-dimensional gravity are topological defects. We will discuss the peculiarities of the application of holographic approach in this case for calculation of the entanglement entropy and for study of the entanglement dynamics in the process of equilibration. The details and universal characteristics of the entanglement spreading during the evolution of the inhomogeneous initial state, as well as their relation with the black hole physics, will be discussed.
