Abstract:
Although the Cremona groups are infinite-dimensional, the analogies between
them and affine algebraic groups catch the eye: they have the Zariski topology,
algebraic subgroups, tori, roots, Weyl groups, Borel subgroups, ...
The talk is aimed to discuss the similarities and differences related to this phenomenon.
