Abstract: In a retrospective review of the history of mathematics we touch on topics such as:
- how the development of mathematical knowledge and the development of human civilization are interconnected?
- how social environment and the authority had an influence on the direction of the development of mathematics?
- how and when the first abstract and theoretical knowledge arose?
- how and why the first abstract mathematical theories arose?
- how and why the mathematical theories were born, developed and stopped its development?
- what are the reasons for the so-called crises in mathematics?
We will discuss these and some other questions, and perhaps find some answers.
