Level-rank duality via fusion product

I will report on my joint work with Michael Sun. We apply the theory of fusion product in order to give a simple proof of affine branching rules for the restriction of integrable highest weight modules over $sl(MN)$ at level $1$ to $sl(M)$ plus $sl(N)$.
