On random matrices, tensors and their applications

We will talk about recent results on the spectrum of large random matrices constructed from random tensors of increasing order, and about two applications in machine learning and quantum information theory where such matrices arise. The main goal of the talk is to demonstrate how purely theoretical results in random matrix theory help to solve modern problems from other fields.
