Abstract: To begin with I will try to give an overview of some aspects of the development of multivariable residue theory, starting with the groundbreaking results by Coleff, Herrera, and Lieberman in the 70’. I will then motivate the introduction (A-Wulcan, 2010) of the sheaf of pseudomeromorphic currents, discuss its basic properties and sketch some recent works where it plays a role. In particular I will mention a Serre duality theorem on a non-reduced analytic space (A-Lennartsson-Lärkäng-Samuelsson Kalm 2021).
