Kenier Castillo has a solid record of scientific work in the field of Special Functions. His interest in Classical Analysis and Orthogonal Polynomials has resulted in more than 25 papers in international peer review journals, including #2 Math. Comp., #1 Proc. Amer. Math. Soc., #1 Pacific J. Math., #2 J. Approx. Theory, #3 J. Math. Anal. Appl., #6 Appl. Math. Comp., among others. He has 16 co-authors from 7 different research groups with significant national and international projects in the area. He obtained funding as PI in a very competitive international call and he has participated in several international research projects. He has visited several institutions: Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (Belgium), Instituto de Ciencias Matemáticas (Spain), University of São Paulo (Brazil), Universidad del País Vasco/Euskal Herriko Unibertsitatea (Spain), among others. He has been invited speaker in more that 20 conferences. Castillo is supervising two Ph.D. thesis.
