In V. A. Buts 1963 has finished the Kharkov State university named after A. M. Gorkii, radio physical faculty. Since 1966 and on the present he works in the National Scientific Center «Kharkov physical-technical institute». In 1969 has protected the Ph.D. thesis. In 1986 has protected the thesis for a doctor's degree, and in 1995 he was awarded by the rank of the professor on a speciality «Physics and chemistry of plasma». Except scientific activity he pays attention to teaching: the Ukrainian polytechnical institute – the assistant; the Kharkov technical university of radio electronics – the professor; the Kharkov Institute of pilots – the professor; Academy of internal troops – the professor; the Kharkov State university – the professor. V. A. Buts is the author more than 398 scientific works. From them 2 monographies, one of which is published in publishing house "Springer", and also one textbook for the students.
