Alexey Fomin is a researcher from the field of mechanisms and machines science. He received his PhD degree in Mechanisms and Machines Theory in Russia. He concluded his postdoctoral studies at the Düsseldorf University of Applied Sciences (Germany), Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne—EPFL (Switzerland) and Harvard University (USA). Since 2020 he joined Mechanical Engineering Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences (IMASH RAN) as a senior researcher. He is a permanent member of IFToMM Technical Committee for Linkages and Mechanical Controls and a scientific secretary of the Russian National Committee for Machines and Mechanisms Theory. His research interests include synthesis, kinematic and dynamic analysis of mechanisms and robots.
