Received his B.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering (2002) and his M.Sc. degree in Physics (2006) from the Universidad Nacional de Colombia, Sede Medellín. He obtained his Ph.D. degree in Optical Engineering from Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana in 2012. Since 2006 he works as a full-time research Professor at Politécnico Colombiano JIC (Colombia). His current research interests involve fiber specklegram sensors and optical vortices.
