Graduated from Moscow State University in 1973, majoring in Mechanics. He received his Candidate of Science degree (Physics and Mathematics) in 1982. Currently he works as senior researcher at Institute for System Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Research interests are pattern recognition, image processing, and programming.
