The Hunan Institute of Science and Technology is a public college located in Yueyang, China. Yuyang is a city in northeast Hunan province on the shores of the Dongting Lake and the Yangtze River that is rich in history and culture.

The school has 18 departments with 46 undergraduate programs including computer science, accounting, tourism management, Chinese language and literature, English, law and politics science, journalism, advertising, music, Chinese painting, artistic design and physical education. There are 17,400 fulltime students.
