The University of Le Havre, created in 1984, is home today to about 7,000 students. They work in three faculties which offer various courses and in which research is carried out (International Affairs, Science and Technology, Arts and Social Sciences), an Institute of Technology and a school for engineers (the Institute of Logistics Studies). The University has eleven research laboratories and two of these are connected with the National Centre for Scientific Research.
