KazNU--s multilevel education system includes: higher basic education (bachelor degree), higher special education, magistracy, post-graduate education, doctorate. Admission to KazNU is realized by the state educational grants and credits, and on contract base. Specialists have been training in more than 180 specialties.

Today al -- Farabi KazNU has 14 faculties, college, institute of Professional Development, 7 scientific-research institutes, 25 specialized boards on defense of doctoral thesis in 67 specialties, more than 15 thousand students, MA students and PhD students. Scientific infrastructure of the university also includes 11centers.

More than 2000 teachers and employers including 6 academics, ISA HS, 27 academics of NSA Republic of Kazakhstan, 21 honored worker of the Republic of Kazakhstan, 24 laureates of the state and nominal premium of the Republic of Kazakhstan, 39 laureates of young scientist?s premium, 300 professors, doctors of science, and more than 800 assistant of professors, candidates of science are working at 101 departments.

Bolashak? summer camp for children of the students and stuff of University is situated at the country zone not far from Almaty. At the coast of Issyk-Kul Lake KazNU have its own sport-sanitary complex, which includes well-furnished vacation hotel, sport grounds, infrastructure of medicinal, cultural, and consumer services of campers.
