Milano Ricerche is a non-profit organization established in 1986 to promote and manage research and innovation through cooperative projects linking universities, research centres, industrial companies and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

The activities of Milano Ricerche are designed to turn the specific needs and the core competencies of industrial companies and SMEs into research projects which are eligible to be funded at regional, national or EC level and which will result into increased competitiveness for all partners.

The close cooperation with the academic world allows not only to focus internationally recognized scientific competencies over company matters, but also to exploit the brightest graduates through their participation to research activities.

While manufacturing and innovation cycles are becoming shorter, research and development entail growing costs for SMEs. This observation, along with the demand to close the informative and managerial gap about public funding for R&D and professional training, defined Milano Ricerche mission, that is:

1. to establish a permanent link between the academic world and industrial research;
2. to promote technology transfer towards SMEs;
3. to encourage and manage RTD projects;
4. to endorse the creation of new enterprises in high-tech fields;
5. to encourage research and development of new technologies;
6. to promote vocational training.
