  • East Kazakhstan State Technical University named after D. Serikbayev, Ust-Kamenogorsk, KazakhstanIn 1958 Ust-Kamenogorsk Civil and Highway Engineering Department was established by the USSR Council of Ministers' resolution no. 866 of August 5, 1958 and the Kazakh SSR Council of Ministers' resolution no. 765 of August 30, 1958. D. M. Serikbayev was appointed the first Rector of Ust-Kamenogorsk Civil and Highway Engineering Department.

    On May 7, 1996 Ust-Kamenogorsk Civil and Highway Engineering Department was reorganized into East-Kazakhstan Technical University. The university was named in honor of Daulet Serikbayev by the Republic of Kazakhstan Government?s resolution of November 3, 1997 at the university petition.

    On January 31, 2001 East Kazakhstan Technical University was renamed the Republican state government enterprise "East Kazakhstan State Technical University in honor of D. Serikbayev".

    Twenty four Doctors of Science, one hundred and sixty three Candidates of Science and Assistant Professors, one National Academy of Sciences' full member work at the university.

    In 2005 the university integrated into the world field of education through innovation, standard of knowledge and international accreditation of its leading specialties. This is the course which EKSTU in honor of D. Serikbayev has been consistently pursuing.
