In this course we are going to discuss the history of the development and various aspects of the interaction of two ways of describing physical systems – thermodynamic and statistical, as well as various ways to study the existence of stable solutions of the Vlasov–Poisson system, which is one example of a class of partial differential equations known as kinetic equations.
