Lectures are held in memory of outstanding mathematician I. R. Shafarevich (03.06.1923–19.02.2017) who made huge contributions to number theory, algebra and algebraic geometry.

I.A. Panin obtained fundamental results on algebraic $K$‑theory of homogenous varieties, Gersten conjecture and more general purity problems in algebraic geometry, he proved the Grothendieck–Serre conjecture on principal $G$‑bundles, together with A.L. Smirnov he obtained a far-reaching generalization of the Riemann–Roch theorem for oriented cohomology theories of algebraic varieties.
