The convergence of a procedure for calculating an approximate solution in the generalized Kantorovich method

Abstract:
Normwise approximation of a given element of functional Hilbert space by a sum of products of functions of only a single variable is considered. The iterative sequence of solutions, of equations derived from the necessary conditions for error norm minimization, is shown to be compact if the norm has special properties.
