Functional approach to the theory of the metal surface structure

Abstract:
The selfoonsistent field equation obtained by the functional integration method, is applied to the investigation of the lattice structure near the surface of a simple metal. She formulae are obtained for displaycements of ions near the surface from its positions in the ideal lattice. Formulae for surface potentials and work of exit in onedimensional and three dimensional models are written down.
