Abstract: One applies the method of lines to the problem of the bending of a rectangular orthotropic plate whose two opposite sides are freely supported while the other two are rigidly fixed. Under specific conditions one establishes the order of uniform convergence of the solution of a differential-difference problem in terms of the order of the difference approximations.
