Investigation of front tangency of two transversal waves in transverse isotropic elastic media

Abstract: A special case of transversely isotropic elastic medium is considered. This medium is excited by a point force perpendicular to the anisotropic axis. The wave field in this medium is constructed and investigated. The fronts of the SV and SH waves are contact with one another at a point. In order to investigate the vicinity of this point, we derive more simple expressions of the wave field and establish the special function describing the contact of two fronts.
