Abstract:
The paper is a review of models and standards used in modern e-learning systems. The general concept model of e-learning environment is considered. The review also regards these topics: thedata model for interaction with learning objects; the content aggregation model which describesthe structure of learning objects, the ways of searching, packing and transmitting them betweendifferent learning systems; the run-time environment model, which defines an API for learningobjects management; the sequencing model for learning content; the competency model, whichis used to specify knowledge, skills and abilities in e-learning systems. The paper also reviews SCORM, which integrates a system of e-learning models.
Keywords:
e-learning, metadata model, data model, content aggregation model, run-time environment, simple sequencing information and behavior model, competency model, SCORM.
