The Algorithm for Modelling Visibility Area of Objects of the Settlement

Abstract:
The paper presents the results on the development of the method of assessing the visibility of the objects. This method is based on modeling ray visibility from the observer to the studied object using three-dimensional model of the settlement. The triangulation of the surface of all buildings and relief is used to determine the model of settlement. The calculation of the exact characteristic of the visibility of triangles which compose the model of the studied object is specially considered in the paper. The algorithm for modeling visibility area of objects of the settlement is proposed. On the basis of the experiments conducted to test the algorithm the optimal values of parameters were estimated. The optimality criteria for receiving the best results are the time and precision of assessment. This algorithm is implemented in the information system, which allows to analyze the visibility of some urban or rural buildings.
