Electrical resistance of carbon nanotube with a metallic type of conductivity during mechanical loading and intercalation by sulfur

Abstract:
The paper presents the results of calculations of the electrical resistance of carbon nanotubes (5,5) and (7,7) under mechanical loading and the intercalation by sulfur. Current-voltage characteristics of ideal single wall carbon nanotubes have been calculated using the software package Transiesta, which incorporates first principle calculations based on density functional theory and non-equilibrium Green's function method.
