Effect of electric potential on the creep failure surface of aluminum

Abstract:
The article studies the effect of electric potential on technically pure aluminum creep curves. The investigations of failure surface and microrelief of side surface near failure surface being formed in the aluminum creep process are carried out by methods of scanning electron microscopy. It is shown that +1 V potential application leads to some decrease of fracture viscosity on the creep process of technically pure aluminum and the possible reasons of such behavior are considered.
