Flow simulation in a flowmeter with a standard orifice plate

Abstract:
Research results of turbulence models RANS application possibility for a stream structure in a measuring pipeline with the standard orifice plates description and flow coefficient calculation with the accuracy regulated by the standard are presented. The influence of the grid parameters on the calculation accuracy is shown and grid concentration in the near-wall regions recommendations are generated. Detachable zones length on the Reynolds number dependences are presented. Reynolds number ranges of various turbulence models RANS applicability are installed for flow coefficient definition with the accuracy meeting the standards requirements.
