Study of the possibility to identify nano-scale pores on the basis of friction force analysis

Abstract:
Using the movable cellular automata method, the typical situations in identification of nano-scale pores in a ceramics coating were simulated on the basis of the spectral analysis of continuous registering of friction force during the small counter-body motion on the coating surface. The Fourier spectra of the friction force are shown to have peaks corresponding to the distance between the pores and their size.
