Abstract: Interaction between a long-rod projectile and a two-layer target consisting of a steel top layer and a reactive working layer under normal and oblique impact is numerically investigated within the framework of the elastic-plastic model. Formulas for mutual recalculation of a typical impactor size and initial impact velocity under the conditions of normal and oblique impact are developed.
Keywords: high velocity impact, numerical simulation, finite element method.
