Abstract: A brief review on the problem of forest and steppe wildfires and an approximate analytical solution of the problem about ignition of a wooden wall by a wildfire front are given. A program of further researches of wildfire (forest and steppe) spreading to wooden buildings, towns, and villages is proposed.
Keywords: wildfires, combustion of wood, wildfire front impact on wooden buildings, analytical solution of a problem, physical and mathematical modeling of urban fires outbreak.
