Abstract:
The paper describes the main patterns of seismic manifestations of deformation processes in block-structured ice covers of large waterbodies by the example of the ice cover of Lake Baikal. The possibility of “short-” and “intermediate-term” forecasting of large-scale dynamic phenomena associated with the thrust of ice plates is discussed.
